I purchased this bench unit on the prospect that is was hardwood and substantial because of it's $280 price point.this bench is in fact very lite and soft wood, and quite poorly priced... this is a 75-90 bench at most.we will see how long it will last, I suspect it will be less than 1 year exposed to the elements.
